AL TRACY'S SHODAN DIPLOMA - Date 7th January 1962 - note Ed's signature twice and Chinese red block ("chop") for his signature and for Kenpo Karate (Kara Te) -- T'ang (China Hand). Al Tracy was the fourth Black Belt promoted by Ed Parker. #1 James Ibrao, #2 Rich Montgomery, #3 Rick Flores, #4 Al Tracy, #5 Jim Tracy, #6 Chuck Sullivan. NOTE: The old parchment is fading to yellow with age. Notice also that Ed Parker promoted me to SHODAN - not 1st Black Belt. If you can see the detail you will notice the red stamp (chop) is OVER the last part of the "R" in Edmund K. Parker. Only Ed had the signature blocks.
#6 Chuck Sullivan's signature is on my Sandan (3rd Black) Diploma. There are also four other signatures besides Ed Parker's.
Despite what other have said there was no IKKA in 1962 - the official organization back then was the KKA (Kenpo Karate Association) By this time the new crest had replaced the fist on both the patches and diplomas.
